The plugin interface, navigation, and menu layout have been refreshed for a cleaner, more modern, and easier-to-use experience.

WebP images can now be converted to AVIF.

Recommended if WebP are the original images on upload

Added JPEG XL as a third conversion target alongside WebP and AVIF, with configurable quality and effort settings (Imagick only).

Note: Wordpress does not natively convert to JXL at the moment. Builders such as Elementor will generate their own thumbnails and since they do not have the support of JXL they will fail. 

JXL will need to be enabled in Chrome via chrome://flags/#enable-jxl-image-format in the address bar.

Export conversion records and original image files as separate ZIP archives, making it easy to fully restore or reconvert from untouched source files across any server or environment.

New upload mode that waits for WordPress to finish generating all scaled image sizes before conversion, ensuring every generated size is captured.

CMYK JPEGs are now automatically detected and skipped during conversion to prevent colour-shifted results.

When you edit an image in media, the original image is stored as a backup. 

When you convert your images, the originals along with your edited versions are backed up and removed from the uploads directory freeing even more space.

Detect and repair incorrect image URLs caused by domain or site migrations.

Compare disk files against the media library, detect orphaned images and missing thumbnails, and bulk regenerate thumbnails.

Scan active theme files for hardcoded or referenced image paths.

Plugin options are now stored in a dedicated table with in-memory caching, reducing database overhead on every page load.

Conversion is now blocked when scaled image files are missing from disk, preventing partial conversions and metadata corruption caused by incomplete image sets.

Bulk conversion now warns when animated GIFs are selected, as animations will be flattened during conversion.

Now drops all custom database tables, removes all plugin options, and optionally deletes the backup directory.

As long as you do not close your tab, bulk convert will run, letting you continue working on other tasks.

Completely rebuilt for faster performance on large databases.

The new engine uses intelligent table mapping and primary key tracking instead of row offsets, keeping speeds fast and consistent from start to finish — even on very large tables. Smart filtering also improves efficiency and reduces processing time.

Operations continue running at full speed even when switching browser tabs or working in the background.

Chunk sizes can now be set using MB instead of row counts, making memory usage more predictable and giving better control over server load during large operations.

Added new filters for Converted, Skipped, and Errors.

Image titles now link directly to the attachment edit screen, and the log now displays per-image bytes saved along with running session totals.

Bulk operations now immediately show a “Pausing…” status after a pause request is made, confirming the process will safely stop once the current batch finishes.

Frontend page loads now bypass the plugin bootstrap completely for faster performance.

Plugin options have also been moved to a dedicated database table outside the WordPress autoload system and are now loaded with a single optimized query.

Removed and replaced by the new Database Search & Replace engine with automatic table detection.
